Prebiotic Gut Gummies For Gut Healing

If you have followed me for some time you will know that I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I'd take a bag of salty chips (guilty pleasure) over a chocolate bar or any form of candy, any day!

So, yes you read that right! I am human and I don't maintain a 100% perfect lifestyle and neither should you. The goal is truly to create a balance, you know the 80/20 rule. Now I know you have heard this before but here is why you really need to understand the 80/20 rule.

Trying to achieve a perfect diet is simply setting yourself up for failure and it is not your fault when things always seem to fall apart. What is...

Unrealisitic expectations and unrealistic goals.

We are told we must be perfect, otherwise we have failed. The moment you have a bite of the cake, eat a cookie, grab a bag of chips, you feel completely defeated and question whether getting heathy is even possible for you.

WRONG!

It is totally possible! It's possible one step at a time, which is why I created the FREE Healthy Gut Cheat Sheet to give you easy steps to stop the fatigue, pain, bloating and angry bowel movements. Grab your copy here.

Truthfully before you even try to achieve 80% of the good stuff and 20% of the well... the not so good stuff, you must take a PERSONAL inventory. That's right, you need to kick the comparison syndrome to the curb and take note of you and you alone.

Setting yourself up for success

If today you are putting in 100% of your effort only 40% of the time, trying to set a goal of 80%-100% perfection throughout the day might last for a day, but it won't be sustainable. Start tomorrow by giving 100% of your effort 50% of the time and work up from there. Remember slow and steady wins the race and this will ensure long lasting success.

Here are some techniques to slowly transform your day into more gut healing foods that taste great too!

Swap It

Drop It

Crowd It Out

One of the reasons I love recipes like these Gut Gummies, is because it gives you an opportunity to set yourself up for success. Whether you want to omit or swap out sugar loaded, inflammatory candies or crowd them out with a healthier options, these gut gummies are one of the many ways you can turn a treat into a satisfying healing snack in favour of your health.

The Spiced Apple Zinger, is defintely a crowd favourite, by far! The apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, honey and prebiotic powder (to feed your good bacteria) bring a beautiful balance of soothing and digestive support!

Prebiotic Gut Gummies

Ingredients:

Spiced Apple Zinger

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 4 tbsp gelatin

  • 1 tbsp MSPrebiotic powder

Blueberry Pomegranate (or flavour of choice)

  • 1 cup juice

  • 1 lemon, squeezed

  • 4 tbsp gelatin

  • 1/2 tsp stevia powder

  • 1 tbsp MSPrebiotic powder

Method:

  1. In a small pot, over medium heat, gently warm liquids. Be sure not to boil. Our goal is simply to warm liquid enough to be able to whisk gelatin, Prebiotic powder and other dry ingredients in until smooth.

  2. Whisk in dry ingredients, depending on your flavour of gummies.

  3. Remove from heat. You might notice at this time that there is a frothy layer. You can skim this off with a spoon to avoid a frothy gelatin bottom to your gummies (personal preference).

  4. In your tray of choice (either silicone or glass dish), pour your liquid mixture into your tray.

  5. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

  6. Once gelatinized, pop your tray into the freezer for 3-5 minutes. I tried skipping this step, but it really helped to get the gummies out of their tray without getting stuck.

  7. Keep in an air tight container for up to 5 days in the fridge.
