I'm a small-town Ontario gal, a former opera singer turned Functional Nutritionist after suffering from IBS.
I love hiking mountains, my fur baby (Miss V) and getting lost in nature. Read on for the rest...
I'm Alyssa Labrecque.
I didn't always have a happy gut...
The perfect poops, living freely, not stuck in a bathroom, able to eat what I want or the ability to live my life without my health controlling it... in fact, just a few years ago you would have found me hanging out on the john either waiting to poop or waiting to stop pooping, bloated like I was 9 months pregnant, exhausted and moody.
After watching my sister suffer from colitis, in and out of the hospital, misdiagnosed, misprescribed and in pain, I believed there had to be a better way! I started researching and kept coming back to nutrition. It inspired me to change my own life and you may expect at this point in the story, me to tell you that this was the moment I fixed my gut... not so much!
I thought I just needed to follow a super restrictive diet, take laxatives and antidiarrheals and that would fix my gut, but what really happened was my gut got worse! It wasn't until I started following a Responsive Sustainable Gut Repair System that my gut healed, I lost 70lbs, became a nutritionist + gut expert and started helping those suffering from IBS, SIBO, gas and bloating to fix their guts and take back control of their life.
I WILL ALWAYS BE THAT CRAZY CHICK ON THE SIDE-LINES THAT CHEERS YOU ON AND BELIEVES IT IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU!
Today you can find me either swimming in the lakes of Muskoka or cozied up in front of my fireplace in the cold Canadian winters but my FAVOURITE place to hang is behind my computer connecting with amazing people like you all over the world.
I'm a messy bun, no make-up kinda gal
I prefer salty chips over sweets
I've never been a coffee drinker
I have a potty mouth
I'm not perfect...
(just like you)
I am a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Gut Expert.

My schooling was simply an introduction to what I do as a practitioner. My additional training with specialized courses expands into Interpretation of Functional Testing with GI Map, Hair Mineral Analysis, hormone testing and blood work. I have studied Herbology, muscle testing and have extensive experience personal and professional experience with stealth infections, pathogens, viruses such as lyme and drainage pathways.
My studies have never and will never end because our understanding of the body is ever-evolving. As a practitioner, it is my responsibility to stay at the forefront of these new developments and I am actively in courses as clinical findings, research and studies continue to roll out. After working with over 1000 people in my Love & Trust Your Guts Program, I am confident this is what has created so much success for our clients (aside from them committing to the work).
